Our Beliefs

First United Methodist Church of Elon is part of the larger connectional system that is the United Methodist Church.  Members of the UMC have varying opinions on any number of issues, but as a denomination we hold a set of doctrinal beliefs.  These beliefs are based on what John Wesley called “The Quadrilateral,” by which all things are tested by Scripture, Tradition, Experience, and Reason, with Scripture always the primary source.
